I'd Burn Up In Your Atmosphere

Sweet Madness - 5.

 Emily was your typical 25 year old, trying to figure out what way life was going for her. A month and a half back, unexpectedly her life had changed. She was travelling by the local subway one evening when a group of 3 men began to harass her.  They started passing lewd remarks and started to get close to her physically. One of the men had even stroked her thigh. Emily had remained calm but as the situation went from bad to worse, a young man decided to intervene. He calmly went and sat down next to Emily and looked at the men with a look that said “Back off, she’s with me.” The men automatically walked away and got off the train. Emily burst into tears and hugged this stranger with all her strength. He took her by her shoulders and looked in her eyes,

“It’s over now,” he said reassuringly. “There’s nothing to worry about. If you’d like, I can drop you home. My name is Neal, by the way.”

Emily regained her senses and smiled at the man.

“I’m Emily. Thank you so much for that, I don’t know what would have happened.”
